Open auditions for under-18s musical stage show

Saturday, 19th March will present an amazing opportunity for budding stars of the stage and screen, as Stone’s Rooftop Studios hosts open auditions for roles in its PSSA (Pop School & Stage Academy) 2011 musical stage show.

Open to all comers aged from 8 – 18 years, auditions will take place at 2pm at the stage school’s purpose-built studio above the Co-op off Stone High Street. The auditions, on which roles will be awarded in the November 2011 show at the Mitchell Memorial Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, will be judged by Rooftop Studios’ principle Elaine Bird, PSSA Patron actor Ian Kelsey and founders of the London-based PSSA, Mia and Laura, who are talented West End performers in their own right.

Elaine says:

We’re opening up the auditions to children from outside of the school and are really excited to see what talent comes through the door. The show will offer a broad range of roles requiring different skills, so there will be something for aspiring dancers, actors and singers alike. We’re particularly looking to attract boys who are keen to act as we’re hoping to stage a production of the musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and would really love to find a strong Gaston.

To take part in the open auditions, be at Rooftop Studios by 2pm on Saturday, 19th March 2011. For further information on the Staffordshire branch of PSSA and range of other activities available at Rooftop Studios, including the Stagecraft Dance & Drama School, visit www.rooftopstudios.co.uk.
